The Ice climbing Attitude imposes itself !

Not to be missed just for the place: we come from far and wide to take part in this ice festival. As proof 25 nationalities took part in 2006.

Ice has become an obligation for the professionals who meet here and make a huge contribution to the meet.

A must for the media: ICE is a real window on the world of ice climbing, the equipment, and changes in the sport .

ICE is essential for the region of Les Ecrins where everyone is involved in one way or another.

Safety , which is of primary importance and covered every year, will be doubled with "ICE ATTITUDE".

Even though we make in ice climbing the same movements as in rock climbing, we find in ice climbing the same risks as in mountaineering. The ice climber has to be aware of the environment in which the sport takes place, know how to read the ground, and the conditions of the ice and the route. All these ideas will be covered in a document written by Mountain Magazine and us for ICE 2007 with the help of the PGHM and CRS (mountain rescue). The PGHM and CRS will be present at Icexpo for the five days of the event. The study of real cases will reinforce their message.

For 2007 we have invited Eric Loizeau, sailor, lover of mountains, water and ice, two milieus far apart and sometimes so close. He will be our father figure for this edition of ICE

The guides will look after your ice tools at Icexpo whilst he is sharpening his crayons at the Icebar! We can no longer count the number of helmets that have been personalised by Joan for their owners . These collectors, pieces are worthy of being shown just under the frescos of "Petite Lucie" in the Icebar in a future edition.   

To be savoured without moderation, the official selection from this years Banff film festival. They will be shown each evening of the ICE festival .

Because the "Hauts Alpins" have no equal in giving a warm welcome and because ice climbers like a good night out, ICE 2007 will do a swap of its traditional evening party for a   final night bivouac in the heart of the mountains. Big fire, huge cauldrons of soup, and hot wine, with films shown on a screen of ice, events and night under canvass. This will make an evening loyal to the spirit of the mountains, simple with memorable shared moments.
